HBO’s Twitter hacked – Are they now a target?
HBO’s Twitter account was taken over by the hacker group, OurMine, on 17th August. HBO quickly regained control, and deleted the posts. HBO have yet to comment on this latest cyberattack. Read the full article on the BBC.
This is the latest report of HBO coming under fire from hackers. In July HBO had 1.5 TB of files stolen, and subsequently been held under ransom; this all been confirmed by HBO.
After that attack an HBO spokesperson told “CBS This Morning” the hackers are attempting to, “to generate media attention. That’s a game we’re not going to participate in.”
“Hollywood companies in particular are beefing up their security systems way more than before the Sony hack in 2014,” Belloni said. “I think they’re going to start doing even more to beef up security.”
Following the incident of the stolen files, hackers have released scripts, and an unaired episode of ‘Game of Thrones’, ‘Curb Your Enthusiasm’, and ‘Insecure’, into the public domain.
